AIDS Resource Center (1-800-551-3311): provides HIV/AIDS education & prevention services.

National AIDS Hotline (1-800-342-2437): provides confidential information about HIV transmission and AIDS.

 

Teen Peer Group (LAVA) meets monthly, teaches peers and school classes prevention information on abuse, violence, peer pressure, eating disorders, bullying, and date rape.

AVAIL, Inc. phone 623-5177(office) or 623-5767(24-Hour Crisis Line) offers one-on-one and group support for the victims of both emotional and physical violence.
Langlade County FIRST CALL 627-1818 for information about counseling programs in Langlade County that specialize in helping teens. 
Baby Think It Over (BTIO) - voluntary, interactive program using simulation infant dolls to provide students with lifelike experiences with infants. 
Parenting information, delay of sexual activities, car seat safety, child abuse/neglect information are provided to students in Middle and High School.

R.A.Y.S. (Runaway and Youth Services) 1-877-920-7238:  Free 24-hour hotline for adolescents in trouble, needing emergency shelter or to talk to someone anonymously.

National Runaway Switchboard 1-800-RUN-AWAY (1-800-786-2929) a 24-hour crisis line for youth.

 

Education programs provided to teachers and the community.  If you or a friend is thinking about suicide, someone at these numbers can help you day or night:
Langlade Health Care Center 627-6694, Suicide Prevention Line 1-800-799-0122 or the National Youth Crisis Line 1-800-HIT-HOME (1-800-448-4663).  All offer suicide and crisis intervention 24 hours a day.

Langlade Hospital, 623-9373:  offers nutrition counseling and education.
Outpatient Nutrition Clinic (Wausau Aspirus Hospital) 1-800-283-2881, provide teens nutrition education/counseling for their particular needs. 
Family Nutrition Education Program (UW-Extension) 627-6236 offers nutritional education information for low-income families.
